Besides yourself and your thirst for travel, you’re welcome to bring (1) piece of luggage and (1) carry-on bag if you purchase general seating tickets or standard reserved seats.

For more information, see our luggage policy.

Unfortunately Megabus buses are unable to carry these items unless they are in a case that does not exceed the dimensions stated in the luggage policy.

For guidance, this case must not exceed 62 inches when adding the total exterior dimensions of the piece (length + width + height) and should not weigh more than 50 pounds.

Megabus cannot store these items if they are out of a case due to the potential for damage to other customers' luggage.

Bicycles will be allowed on Coach USA operated trips within the state of Wisconsin.

If an item is lost on a bus, a lost item inquiry must be reported to our lost and found department by filling out this form.

Once you've submitted the necessary information on the lost item, it will be entered into our system for processing by our lost and found department.

Our lost and found department responds to all loss inquiries. The time frame of response may take several days as an investigation to find the lost item must be completed. Megabus makes every attempt to return lost items to their rightful owners and will assist with retrieval to the best of our ability.

You’re welcome to snack on our buses. However, alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the bus (including checked baggage).

Sometimes your schedule changes. We get that. We want to ensure you can quickly and easily change your reservation to match your new schedule.

You can trade in your reservation online as long as it’s more than 3 hours before your scheduled departure.

The cost of your initial reservation will go toward crediting the new one.

Please note that there is a trade-in fee applied for changed reservations:

  • $3.00 for trade-ins more than 24 hours from departure.
  • $5.00 for trade-ins 6 to 24 hours from departure.
  • $7.50 for trade-ins 3 to 6 hours from departure.

In addition, there is a $3.99 new reservation fee, or $7 when the change is made by telephone, for changed reservations.

Once completed, Megabus reservations cannot be canceled or refunded, but they can be traded in for another journey up to 3 hours before your original scheduled departure.

Megabus is not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by traffic, road conditions, weather or other causes over which it has no control.

Alternatively where Megabus fails to provide on time-reliable service for reasons wholly within our control refunds, or alternative travel arrangements, may be offered.

From 0-150, people of all ages are required a ticket to travel with Megabus, children and babies included.

Booster/car seats are recommended, but only for children under the age of 5. You’d look pretty silly sitting in your own booster seat.

Customers under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult (17 years or older). If you can pass for 17 (or it’s close), please have your I.D. ready so we can verify your age and ask for your beauty secrets. Unaccompanied minors under the age of 17 are not permitted to travel on Megabus.

We recommend that young adults be prepared to produce a photo ID with proof of age to avoid being refused from traveling on our buses.

We are running Megabus bus routes as normal and without interruption today, tomorrow and beyond as we continue serving our customers.  Please visit https://www.coachusaprocess.com/ for information on the company's court-supervised sales processes.
