Megabus.com delivers holiday cheer to Houstonians affected by Harvey

December 12, 2017 – Today, baseball MVP George Springer and children from the Houston Children’s Chorus joined megabus.com employees for holiday carols at The Residences on Emancipation – a 295-bed temporary housing community located in downtown Houston serving individuals displaced by Hurricane Harvey.

"Home for the holidays" takes on a different meaning for many in Houston this year," said Springer. "It’s important to keep those affected top-of-mind, and to do whatever we can to help, so I jumped at the opportunity to team up with megabus.com to spread a bit of holiday cheer."

To date, Coach USA and its subsidiary, megabus.com has donated $30,000 in support of Hurricane Harvey relief – including the holiday caroling event today, where megabus.com provided additional support to The Residences on Emancipation and those who continue to call this temporary residence home.

"Houstonians who were impacted by the unprecedented storm include megabus.com employees and their families as well as thousands of our valued customers," said Sean Hughes, director of corporate affairs for megabus.com. "We are proud to continue to do our part to help those in need during the rebuilding process and to spread some much-needed holiday cheer."

To keep the spirt of the season going, Springer and megabus.com will be releasing a video of their visit later this month, so check back on megabus.com’s Facebook page.

Megabus.com currently operates in four Texas cities, offering routes between Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Dallas-Fort Worth for as low as $1, plus a reservation fee.
