megabus.com Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Commits to donate $1 to Breast Cancer Research Foundation for every ticket sold on October 18, 2016

Elizabeth, N.J. (October 1, 2016) – Today megabus.com, the company that offers affordable express travel to more than 100 cities across North America, has announced it will donate a dollar for every ticket sold on October 18 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), as well as $1 for every #megabusgoespink shared up to 10,000 during the month of October.

“This is an opportunity to put our money where our heart is, and we are proud to continue our support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation,” said Linda Burtwistle, COO for Coach USA. “Many of our employees have faced this disease across family and friends, not to mention the thousands of passengers who use our service to connect with loved ones every day.”

To date, megabus.com has donated nearly $20,000 to BCRF and with the addition of the sales from this week they hope to grow at least double that amount. Earlier this year megabus.com debuted its BCRF branded pink bus which took breast cancer survivors and their loved ones on a special trip to New York City, in conjunction with a ticket sale donation.

“To date megabus.com has funded more than 400 hours of research. Our partners are a critical component to funding lifesaving research and we know that, together, we will eradicate breast cancer,” said Myra Biblowit, BCRF president and CEO.

This year, BCRF has awarded $57 million in grants to support the work of more than 250 scientists at leading medical and academic institutions across 14 countries, making BCRF the largest private funder of breast cancer research worldwide. By committing 91 cents of every dollar directly to its mission, BCRF is one of the nation's most fiscally responsible nonprofits.
