(July 24, 2013) – Megabus.com, the popular city-to-city, express bus company with fares from $1, announced today they will begin daily service to/from eight additional cities to/from Cleveland. Service begins August 1 and tickets can be purchased at www.megabus.com  today.

Direct routes will be available to/from Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio, Erie, Pa., as well as Buffalo, NY, with connections to Atlanta, Lexington, Ky. and Knoxville and Chattanooga, Tenn. Each of the new cities will be served via Coach USA subsidiary Lakefront Lines.

“Megabus.com’s addition of eight city connections into Cleveland is a tremendous asset for our city as a business and leisure destination,” said David Gilbert, President & CEO of Positively Cleveland. “There is plenty for visitors to see with more than $2 billion in visitor-related developments currently happening and now it is even easier than before for people to travel to downtown and experience everything we have going on. There has truly never been a better time to visit to Cleveland.”

Additionally, on August 1, megabus.com will move all arrivals/departures from their current location on the west side of West 3rd St., between Frankfort Ave and West Superior Ave, to the Greater Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) Stephanie Tubbs Jones Transit Center at the intersection of 22nd St and Prospect Avenue, at 2115 East 22nd Street.  The buses will pick up in Lane A at Stop 3.

“This exciting addition is a result of a strong partnership between Cleveland State University, the City of Cleveland, Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority and megabus.com to provide the residents of – and visitors to – Cleveland with more destinations, even more convenient access to local transit services and an overall greater traveling experience,” said Mike Alvich, VP of marketing and public relations for megabus.com/Coach USA. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be operating out of the GCRTA’s Stephanie Tubbs Jones Transit Center and look forward to serving even more travelers.”

Megabus.com will continue to serve Ann Arbor, Mich., Toledo, Ohio, State College, Pa., Chicago, Detroit, New York and Pittsburgh. Totaling 11 daily arrival/departures, Cleveland has become a major megabus.com hub in the Midwest.

“I am grateful to CSU, the City of Cleveland, and to megabus.com for the cooperation that resulted in a better place for all passengers,” said Cleveland City Councilman Joe Cimperman.”This is exactly the kind of collaboration that shows people how welcome they are to Cleveland and how we wish all of our visitors safe travels.”

Customers are encouraged to book early to secure the best rates.

“The $1 fares go quickly, but there are many other great fares available if you book early,” said Alvich. “Traveling on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays is another great way Cleveland customers and all travelers can secure the best megabus.com fares.
