Fall River Travelers to Receive New, Affordable Travel Option to New York City and Three Additional Cities via Megabus.com

(March 16, 2015) Megabus.com, the popular city-to-city, express bus company, today announced new nonstop service between Fall River, MA and four cities. Daily service begins today and tickets can be purchased at www.megabus.com.

Daily service will operate from the Fall River arrival/departure location at the Louis D. Pettine Transportation Center at 118 Fourth Street.  Parking is available under the terminal.

Fall River residents will soon be able to travel direct to/from Fall River on the following routes:
•    Fall River-New York City
•    Fall River-Providence
•    Fall River-Dartmouth, UMass
•    Fall River-Fairhaven/New Bedford

“We are very excited to expand our services to Fall River,” said Dale Moser, Chief Executive Officer of megabus.com. “Megabus.com has served more than 40 million customers across the country and we look forward to continuing to provide a convenient travel option that is both safe and affordable.” There will be three daily departures from Fall River to New York City and Providence at 5:45 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 4:15 p.m.  The Fall River service will include three additional daily departures to Dartmouth, UMass and Fairhaven/New Bedford at 12:45 p.m., 4:20 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

“Within the past year, we’ve seen an expansion of service not only in New Bedford and Dartmouth but now to Fall River as well which is exciting on a tourism level,” said Ellie Forgata, Tourism Marketing Coordinator at the Southeastern Massachusetts Visitors Bureau.  “This is great not only for people travelling to New York, but for people from New York travelling to Bristol County into the South Coast.  Our area is considered a hub for tourism.”

The new routes will have Reserved Seating availability, allowing customers to choose from 10 of the most popular seats at an incremental cost. By purchasing adjoining reserved seats, friends and family members are guaranteed to sit next to each other.
