NEW YORK (March 26, 2009) – Megabus.com, the first low-cost, intercity express bus service with fares as low as $1 via the Internet, announced today it will increase the number of daily departures from Washington to New York. Megabus.com will now offer 32 departures (previously offered 14) with buses leaving approximately every 30 minutes. Booking is now available via megabus.com for travel dates April 5 and beyond.
“Due to significant customer demand, we are delighted to increase our service levels from Washington DC,” said Dale Moser, president and COO of megabus.com. “With the current economic environment, the public continues to select megabus.com as an affordable method of travel, leaving them with more money in their pocket as they arrive at their destination.”
Megabus.com has served nearly 350,000 Washington passengers since launching in the Northeast in March 2008. Visit www.megabus.com for additional information about the service, schedules and fares. As departures utilize two different stop locations in close proximity to each other in Downtown Washington, customers must confirm exact departure point on the web site and on their reservation.
