Coach USA Completes Acquisition of Coach America’s Lakefront Lines Bus Service

(Oct. 26, 2012) – Coach USA, one of the largest bus transportation companies in North America, announced today the completion of its acquisition of Lakefront Lines, a division of Coach America in Illinois, Indiana, New York and Ohio.

As a part of Coach USA, Lakefront Lines will continue intercity bus service to/from the following cities:
Illinois

  • Columbia City, IN

  • Elkhart, IN

  • Gary, IN

  • Muncie, IN

  • Plymouth, IN

  • Richmond, IN

  • Southbend, IN

  • Valparaiso, IN

  • Cincinnati
  • Columbus, Ohio
  • Dayton Trotwood, Ohio
  • Kenton, Ohio
  • Van Wert, Ohio

A portion of Lakefront tickets will be sold using megabus.com’s affordable pricing model with seats starting as low as $1 (plus 50¢ booking fee). Passengers can begin booking today on the megabus.com website for travel Nov. 1 and beyond. Customers can also purchase non-discounted Lakefront 'walkup' tickets from their driver and local ticket agents.

Following the acquisition, some bus stop locations have changed; please visit www.megabus.com for bus stop locations and schedules. Those without Internet access can contact megabus.com at 1.877.462.6342 or Lakefront Lines at 1.800.638.6338.

Free Wi-Fi will be available on all Lakefront Lines buses.

ABOUT LAKEFRONT LINES
Lakefront Lines was founded in 1962 by Robert Goebel and is still managed by members of the Goebel Family.  The Goebel Family owned the business until 2008 when sold to Coach America.  In July 2012, Coach USA announced it was acquiring Lakefront.  
The Lakefront Lines fleet is comprised of 175 vehicles and serves travelers in Eastern Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Western Pennsylvania with operations in Cleveland, Toledo, Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio.
