Anaheim travelers have a new, affordable way to the Bay Area

ANAHEIM, Calif. (November 19, 2014) – Anaheim residents have a new affordable travel option beginning December 6.

Megabus.com, the popular city-to-city, express bus company, announced today it will begin daily service to/from Anaheim. Tickets starting at $1 can be purchased at www.megabus.com today.

Daily service will operate from the new Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) at 2626 E. Katella Avenue, south of the Honda Center. The megabus.com arrival/departure location is at Bus Bay 11. The new facility offers waiting customers a variety of transit, dining, retail and entertainment options and access to local and public transportation for Disneyland Resort and other hotels and points of interest.

“This expansion provides Orange County residents the convenience of an additional arrival/departure location in and out of the metro area,” said Mike Alvich, megabus.com’s Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations.

Anaheim residents can travel directly to/from Anaheim on four to five daily trips on the following routes:
•    Anaheim-San Jose, Calif. (scheduled trip time is seven hours, 40 minutes)
•    Anaheim-Oakland (scheduled trip time is eight hours, 15 minutes)
•    Anaheim-San Francisco (scheduled trip time is eight hours, 30 minutes) 

Fares start as low as $1 every day and increase as the traveling date gets closer. Customers are encouraged to book early to secure the $1 fares. Checking alternate dates and times of travel can help megabus.com customers secure the best fares.

The new routes will have Reserved Seating availability, allowing customers to choose from 10 of the most popular seats. By purchasing adjoining reserved seats, friends and family members are guaranteed to sit next to each other.

“Reserved Seating allows our customers to pre-book the best seats with panoramic views or table spaces, providing Anaheim customers a truly unique travel experience,” said Alvich.

The number of customers using megabus.com’s expanding network has increased more than 14.5 percent during the last year as the company continues to set the standard for modern bus travel. The Anaheim expansion will make it possible for more than 40,000 travelers to visit the area during the first year of service, with a local economic impact of more than $3 million annually.
